Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State has praised the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), keystone Bank and Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) for the carried out renovation and construction of schools across Nasarawa state.
He made this announcement while he swore-in the chairman and members of Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB led by Mohammed Musa Dan’Azumi at Government House Lafia the state capital.
“As you may be aware this Administration has remained resolute in the provision of qualitative education to our children, especially at the elementary level in order to provide strong foundation of nurturing our children in to becoming future leaders of tomorrow.
“It is for this reason that we did not hesitate as a Government to commit substantial resources in the payment of counterpart funding to facilitate the provision of additional school infrastructure and instructional materials essential for the creation of the desired conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
” It is our conviction that through massive investment into the education sector, the State would produce the required manpower and expertise needed for a dynamic and proactive public and private education sector.
I am happy to state that the payment of the counterpart fund has enabled the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) to access necessary funding from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), hence the massive construction and renovation of primary and junior secondary schools across the State, ” the governor said.
